Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia are less three single countries than a world for itself. INDO-CHINA, as the French called it, is located close to India and China, however neither of them is similar. Nowhere in it's extensive colonial area, the life semmed sweeter and more sensuous to the pleasure-usual Europeans. Here they felt much better than in the magic land triangle of the Mekong. Kitchen and culture already take care of that. Since that time more than half a century has passed and a moving, often tragical destiny has given a new face to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. They became more fashionable, the Vietnamese. What unites the people of these countries furthermore, is their way of life, which is based upon the gentleness of the Buddhism and also takes the hot climate into account. Considered as the uppermost virtues are politeness, tolerance and the respect for others. All this may appear as an expression of special hospitality to the travellers. In the Far East one does not get rid of the feeling of beeing most welcome. Don't feel different on our sides over "Vietnam".
